New Beginnings

Way to be original...

Anyways, today is a day for new beginnings. I meant to post up a blog today while at work that had some cool photog I did last night while standing on the ASU bridge. I was attempting to capture movement and the crazy night life of Tempe. I will post those photos tomorrow. For now, I just wanted to assure that I had not forgotten about my blog. I have just been a busy busy girl! Yet aren't we all?

The weekend is approaching and boy will it be busy! Hope to get some great photos that's for darn sure! Also, I was going to find something to share for today, but it's dinner time and I'm starvin'!

My goodness, where has the time gone! My last post was last Monday? What is wrong with me! This is not following my New Years resolution at all! Well, things have been nuts, therefore that's kind of an excuse! So much has been happening within the past week from traveling to the Grand Canyon to the Cardinals headed to the Super Bowl, to one of my good friend's bridal shower, to designing away at work! I guess there hasn't been anything too exciting to photography either. I really need to force myself to go to new places. Hmmm any thoughts on great places to photograph? Eh, I'll figure it out for myself soon enough. Happy weekend! Loving the relaxation.

The Grand Canyon!

Over the weekend I drove up to Flagstaff to watch the LMU swim team race the NAU team. It was great to see the swim girls. Boy do I miss them, and swimming for that matter. I traveled to the Grand Canyon with them since it had been a while that I visited this natural wonder of our world.

The best/cutest/most amazing team ever! Good luck in the rest of your season girls!

Scarves from the 70s?

So my mother has so many silly things from back in the day from her crazy bolo tie to fuzzy wool sweaters. Oddly enough this stuff is all pretty fashionable in this new decade. One thing that I have taken over are her scarves. You can wear them around your neck, in your hair, wherever bascially! I usually wear them as a headband. They are fully of color, patterns, and funky designs! So fashionable.

8 GIGS!

Hoorayy for a new 8gb memory card! My D80 is very happy as am I! Let some more crazy photographing begin! I just had to put up a quick post in celebration. Thanks to my dear friend Matt for having an extra card and my baby for buying it as part of my Christmas present! Yes!

Man Thursday already? Flaggstaff/Grand Canyon/Sedona trip, coming right up! As well as a little swim team reunion! Stay tuned for some fab photos.

Inspiration

HaPpY MoNdAy!

I figured it would be a great idea to start posting entries about things that inspire me. So here is the first one!...

Surfing the internet today, as I do quite often, I found a blog called Ritzy Bee: Little details that make events, weddings and life so charming and fun! Since I have been getting into wedding photography I often come upon some really great stuff. Ritzy Bee led me to someone I am going to aspire to be like...Maria Vicencio. That is a link to her blog. She also has a website, however, I think her blog has some really amazing stuff and more up to date. It could be the environment she gets to shoot in, and if it is boy I'm jealous! I love the colors, brick walls, old wooden fences, and vibrant walls that he subjects pose in front of.

Anyways, I thought I would just share this with all of you photog lovers. In discovering all of these people, I have noticed something unique about each of them. Throughout this year, I hope to find something unique about my photography. Something that people would want to come to me for and no one else. Hmmmm...new chapter in my photography coming right up!

I just need to brand my entire self I think. That should be my overall project of 2009: new website, new logo, find my photography style, as well as get my design work together so that I can have some new stuff for people to see!

Happy New Year!

I am a huge dummy. It is 2009...and I have yet to dedicate a post to the New Year! Unfortunately I didn't get any really awesome photography on New Years. Probably a good thing that I didn't in fear that my camera could have been ruined! So here we have it...2009.

I can sense a good year. Maybe not so much for the economy or the new president, but for creativity and exciting challenges. There will also be many firsts and certainly not lasts, which you will experience in my blog throughout the year.

Some things I hope to do this year...
1. STOP biting my nails...shesh how old am I?
2. Try much harder to have some fun photos to post everyday, if not everyday almost everyday.
3. Include more design as well as well as create more stationery to put in my blog.
4. Design a few wedding albums as samples for Bowser.
5. I really need to start working out again. Now that it has been almost an entire year that I have taken off after 8 fabulous years of competitive swimming, it is time to get the booty in shape again! I think I need to make some goals, or find something to train for. That usually seems to help.
6. Another thing, I MUST make more of an effort to learn flash/HTML so that I know how to use it more efficiently.
7. And then I can make myself a flashy new website! Which will have a link to my blog and photo gallery! Yesssss!

Alright well that's all that I can think of at the moment. I'm sure this list could go on and on, but maybe I will save it for Lent! :)

So I just found these photos on my work computer. I obviously had to empty my camera in order to do some work for NeighborhoodStock, our attempt at a stock photography project. Anyways, here are some muffins that look as if they hated me? Why are they sticking out their tongues!!

Big Sky Montana

The past week was quite an adventure. We flew to Butte, Montana, played in snow, skied, partied, relaxed, hot tubbed, swam in an indoor pool, and rode in a sled behind a camouflaged 4-wheeler, what a week we had!
